However, the court granted two-day custody for the interrogation of the accused. Till now, police have ruled out involvement of Amit Chaudhary, Sandhu's live-in partner, in the murder.

As per the complaint filed by Sandhu's sister, Sandhu was in live-in relationship with Chaudhary for around past five years. Chaudhary, however, was married and had two children, and Chaudhary's father Ram Lal had killed Sandhu as he was against their relationship, as per the complainant.

During the investigation, police have also recovered the weapon, a country-made pistol, used in the murder and live cartridges from alleged murderer's (Supreet) residence, and had also recovered five mobile phones from Ram Lal's possession.

On Tuesday, during the hearing of the case, the defence counsel submitted to the court that police had nothing more to recover from the accused and there was no need of their police custody. The defence counsel also alleged that even the three accused were beaten up by police in the custody.

To ascertain whether the allegations of the defence counsel were correct, civil judge (junior division) Hasan Deep Singh Bajwa ordered to conduct the medical examination of all three accused after every 24 hours and submit the medical reports to the court.

As per police investigation, till now, it was Chaudhary's decision to shift Sandhu to his Sector-47 residence, which was immediate provocation of the murder for Chaudhary's family.

Accused purchased pistol from Sec-56 resident

Police said the accused had purchased the pistol from Lali, a resident of Sector 56, and efforts were on to nab him. Meanwhile, Amit has shown displeasure over the entire incident and the involvement of his father, sister and close friend in the crime.
