ASI held on graft charges in Rohtak

Police on Sunday arrested assistant sub-inspector Rajinder Singh who was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Shivaji Nagar police station here.

Police on Sunday arrested assistant sub-inspector Rajinder Singh who was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Shivaji Nagar police station here.

The case under corruption charges was registered after a black oil merchant named Rajinder, giving a written affidavit and showing mobile recording as proof to IGP Alok Mittal.

As per details, when the complainant was on his way to Rohtak, Rajinder and four others asked him to stop and snatched Rs 8,000 from him. Thereafter, Rajinder threatened to book him under wrong charges if he did not pay him Rs 1.5 lakh. The complainant had recorded the discussion on his mobile phone and deposed before Rohtak SSP Vivek Sharma and then the IGP.
