Awareness drive for pedestrians held

As part of road safety week, an awareness drive for pedestrians was conducted by Chandigarh police in association with Arrive Safe, an NGO, on Saturday. On the occasion, a walkathon was organised from Sector 16/17 traffic light to Plaza, Sector 17.

As part of road safety week, an awareness drive for pedestrians was conducted by Chandigarh police in association with Arrive Safe, an NGO, on Saturday. On the occasion, a walkathon was organised from Sector 16/17 traffic light to Plaza, Sector 17.

Deputy inspector general of police, AS Cheema, was the chief guest of the function. Besides, a team from tEye Hospital, Sohana, also organised a free eye-testing camp for rickshaw pullers, auto rickshaw drivers at Children Traffic Park, Sector 23, Chandigarh. The NGO also held a signature campaign and more than 1500 people signed a road safety declaration.
