In a message here, the chief minister called upon people to dispense with the maladies of hypocrisy, falsehood, pretension and caste prejudices, saying Guru Nanak’s teachings are relevant in today’s “complex and materialistic society”.
The chief minister exhorted the people to celebrate this auspicious occasion with devotion and dedication rising above the parochial considerations of caste and religion.
Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal, revenue minister Bikram Majithia and rural development minister Sikandar Singh Maluka also greeted the people on the occasion.
