Brick kiln operators penalised for violating norms in J&K

Authorities dismantled four brick kilns and imposed a fine of Rs 2.50 lakh on six other units, for violating norms, in Budgam district of Kashmir.

A special squad dismantled tin chimneys of four brick kilns after these units were found operating illegally, an official spokesperson said.

The team also imposed and recovered fine of Rs 2.50 lakhs from six brick kiln owners situated in different areas of Budgam for violating prescribed norms and rules envisaged in the Brick Kiln Act, the spokesperson added.

District magistrate Khursheed Ahmad Shah said erring brick kiln operators will be punished.
