Car rams into truck; six killed

Six persons, including a father-son duo, were killed when their car rammed into a stationary truck near Kurukshetra on the Pipli-Yamunanagar road today in the morning.

According to information, five persons, including a child, died on the spot, while one died at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash civil hospital in Kurukshetra.

The accident left a motorcycle occupant seriously injured.

The victims, returning from a marriage function held at Yamunanagar, have been identified as Manoj and his six-year-old son Ayush from Hastinapur, Meerut; Shreshth from Saharanpur; Amit, Gaurav and Avtar Singh from Kurukshetra.

Police said a tyre of the car had burst due to puncture and driver had lost control over the vehicle. Thereafter, it rammed into a truck near the road, hitting a motorcycle rider in between.
