Elante to face Rs 3-cr fine for unauthorised signboards
The municipal corporation Chandigarh removed sign boards which were put up without authorisation at the Elante Mall in the industrial area here on Saturday. The corporation also calculated a fine of Rs 3 crore for putting up the unauthorised advertisements. The formal notice imposing fine will sent to the management on Monday.

Joint commissioner Rajiv Gupta said “The signboards announcing brands and shops in the mall were displayed without authorised permission. The total area covered by advertisement was calculated at 1,800 square feet and the fine was imposed as per the calculation.” The Municipal Corporation today removed at least ten signboards which were not approved by the chief architect in the control sheet of the building. The action was taken as per the guidelines of advertisement control act.
