Ex DGP—IGP row: Court rejected anticipatory bail

Additional district and sessiosn judge Anshu Shukla on Wednesday dismissed the plea seeking anticipatory bail of Arjun Gill ---- son of former Himachal Pradesh DGP, Gurpreet Singh Gill --- who is facing charges of attempt to rape and dowry harassment of the woman he was to be married to on November 30.

Arjun, his father a former DGP and mother Nika Gill, were been booked by the UT police on the complaint of the daughter of a Punjab IGP of dowry harrassment.

has also been accused of attempt to rape and molestation. He was to get married to the complainant on November 30. However, the girl claimed that the Gills had been demanding dowry after which she called off the wedding. Irked over this, Arjun tied to rape her, she had alleged.

Hopwever Arjun claiming innocence had termed the registration of the case against him as “misuse of power”.
