While music director Atul Sharma and music maestro Rinki Gill from Mumbai lighted the traditional lamp, Sunil Dogra, a ghazal singer from Nangal, opened the concert with 'deewaron se mil kar rona' before singing Qateel Shaifai's classic 'taras na jaaoun kahin'.

Dogra later sang sufiana number 'mein dhoorh haan' and also brought alive the poignant memories of the Partition (1947) through 'kith gumm Jehlam the Satluj' from his third music album 'Yadaan'.

He concluded with a soulful tribute to the poetry of Shiv Batalvi in 'mayein ni mayein'. Young vocalist Kanwar Jagmohan took the centrestage and sang 'hothon se chhu lo tum', 'mitti da bawa'.
