Heatwave swept most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, with maximum temperatures hovering over 40 degrees Celsius.
Sizzling heat prevailed in Chandigarh, with recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius, up three notches than normal, the MeT report said.
In Punjab, blistering heat prevailed in Ludhiana, which recorded a maximum of 43.5 degrees Celsius, up four notches, while Amritsar sizzled at 43.2 degrees Celsius.
Haryana too experienced sweltering heat as Hisar recorded 43.6 degrees Celsius, up three notches, while Ambala's maximum settled at 40 degrees Celsius.
