Just married couple dies in Punjab accident

A couple who had just got married were killed when a vehicle carrying them from their wedding venue collided with a bus in Punjab.

A couple who had just got married were killed when a vehicle carrying them from their wedding venue collided with a bus in Punjab, officials said on Sunday.

Vinod and Nisha, married hours earlier at Killianwali town, were returning to Bathinda on Saturday when their car collided with a Haryana Roadways bus coming from the opposite direction on the Dabwali-Bathinda road, 250 km from Chandigarh.

The bride and the groom died on the spot, police said. Another relative travelling in the same vehicle was also killed and four others were injured.

The car was badly damaged and rescuers had a hard time extricating the victims from the vehicle.
