Maluka for safe mid-day meal

Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka on Thursday issued directions to all authorities concerned for total hygiene in serving the mid-day meal and said all principals and heads of schools would be personally accountable.

Presiding over a meeting of all district education officers here, the minister asked them to also ensure the smooth flow of the mid-day meal, besides proper monitoring of the scheme.

He also warned the officers that strict action would be taken in case of any laxity or negligence on the part of school heads or principals.

Maluka said an inspection campaign had also been launched in this regard.
