New UT finance secy joins work

Punjab-cadre IAS officer Sarvjit Singh on Thursday joined as new UT finance secretary. He has joined on inter-cadre deputation for a period of three years in place of VK Singh, a 1990-batch IAS officer.

Punjab-cadre IAS officer Sarvjit Singh on Thursday joined as new UT finance secretary. He has joined on inter-cadre deputation for a period of three years in place of VK Singh, a 1990-batch IAS officer.

A 1992-batch IAS officer, Sarvjit Singh was secretary (revenue) in the Punjab government before joining the Chandigarh administration. He was among a panel of three officers, which was sent by the state government.

Nine Punjab-cadre IAS officers had applied for the post of UT finance secretary. The Punjab government had sought applications from IAS officers from 1990-batch and onwards only.
