Oak Creek tragedy: PM takes up issue with US

Responding to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's demand for urging the US administration to take effective steps for Sikhs' security following the Oak Creek gurdwara tragedy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has taken up the issue with US President Barack Obama.

Responding to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's demand for urging the US administration to take effective steps for Sikhs' security following the Oak Creek gurdwara tragedy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has taken up the issue with US President Barack Obama.

Earlier, Badal had asked the PM to approach the US government to ensure a prompt inquiry into the August 5 incident and strengthening security at places of worship. The PM told Badal that the central government had taken up the matter with the US administration.
