This year OGCF will be observed by the oil industry across the country from January 16 to 31. Mass awareness campaigns and various other activities based on the theme 'Indhan Bachao-Jan Dhan Badhao' have been planned for housewives, schoolchildren, drivers, mechanics and the general public.

Kairon appreciated the efforts of the public-sector oil companies in spreading the message of conserving petroleum products. He highlighted the need to conserve natural resources to ensure a better future for the future generations.
"Conservation does not mean stopping the use of oil and gas. It means avoiding wastage," he said.

A mobile van, which will travel across the state with relevant messages and literature to raise awareness on the issue, was flagged off by the minister on the occasion.

Executive director of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (marketing) PK Das said, "Oil companies are constantly working to improve the quality of fuel and lubricating oils thereby enabling the Indian consumer to save fuel and reduce fuel emissions into the environment."
