PGIMER resident doctor found positive for Influenza H1N1

A doctor of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Reserach was found positive for Influenza H1N1 here on Saturday.

A doctor of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Reserach was found positive for Influenza H1N1 here on Saturday.

According to sources, the patient is a resident doctor and his condition is stable. After having suffered flu-like symptoms, he was found positive when tested for Influenza H1N1.

Earlier this month, a 20-year-old female resident of Sector-42 was tested positive for the flu. According to UT health officials, she had reported in a private hospital in SAS Nagar with flu like symptoms.

In 2009, the year which saw several Influenza H1N1 cases, around 350 positive cases were reported at screening centres in the city, of which about 150 were of the residents of Chandigarh.
