Punjab: CS puts work of war heroes’ memorial on fast track
Punjab chief secretary Sarvesh Kaushal on Wednesday put the construction work of the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum, Amritsar, on the fast track, clearing different impediments coming in its way by setting up institutional monitoring system.

While reviewing the progress work at a meeting of the steering committee, Kaushal issued instructions to financial commissioner (forest) and secretary (PWD) to resolve all issues and provide necessary clearance regarding the memorial within a week.
The state-of-the-art memorial-cum-museum spread across seven-acre land is being set up on the Amritsar-Attari road. Kaushal said there was no dearth of funds for this project coming up at a cost of Rs 100 crore and that Rs 15 crore had already been released by the finance department.
