Flags will fly at half-mast on all government buildings and no official function will be held during this period, a spokesman said on Thursday.

The government has already said Singh’s two daughters -- Swapanadeep Kaur and Poonam – would be provided with jobs.

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has also spoken to Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur and expressed grief over his tragic death.

The government, he said, would extend help and support to the family.
