Rahul Gandhi to meet ex-servicemen today
A day after BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi attacked the Congress on 'one rank-one pension', Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will hold a meeting with ex-servicemen in Chandigarh on Monday.
Rahul, whose backing gave the much-needed push to the long-pending OROP demand, is expected to discuss the issue with ex-servicemen at the meeting organised by the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Punjab has the highest concentration of ex-servicemen in the country.
Finance minister P Chidamb-aram had, in his interim budget speech, earmarked `500 crore to kick off the OROP.
