Registration date for travel agents extended to Nov 30

The Punjab government has extended the date of registration for travel agents to November 30 under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act. It has been more than four years for the state government to deliberate on such registrations in order to check the duping of public.

As mandatory under the Act that was passed in the state assembly in December last year, principal secretary home DS Bains said directions had been issued to keep a tab on illegal activities of many unscrupulous travel agents working unregistered, exploiting the people.

The Act and Rules framed have been uploaded on the website www.punjabgovt.gov.in.
