The Punjab government has told the Punjab and Haryana high court that the revolutionaries’ hideout at Toori Bazaar, Ferozepur, has been declared protected under the Punjab Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act through a notification in December 2014.

The government’s reply came on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by advocate HC Arora, seeking issuance of directions to the Punjab government to declare the hideout of revolutionaries led by Bhagat Singh as a protected monument.

The PIL was disposed of by the division bench of justice SK Mittal and justice Lisa Gill following the government’s submissions.
