Rotational irrigation Prog in Punjab from Feb 28

Punjab Irrigation Department on Wednesday announced rotational programme for irrigation for Rabbi season through canal water from Feb 28 to March 7.

Punjab Irrigation Department on Wednesday announced rotational programme for irrigation for Rabbi season through canal water from Feb 28 to March 7.

The channels and branches off-taking from Ropar head works, the channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from, Bathinda Branch, Bist Doab Canal, Sidhwan Branch, Abohar Branch and Patiala Feeder respectively.

Disclosing this here on Wednesday a spokesperson Irrigation Department said that direct distributaries of BML, in Group ‘A’, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in Ghaggar Branch and Patiala minor of Group ‘B’ respectively.

The spokesman further said that Punjab channels and branches off-taking from Harike and Ferozepur Head Works, all the direct distributaries of Sirhind feeder in Group ‘A’ being in the first preference, would run to their indent.

Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in Abohar Branch off-taking from Sirhind feeder and its distributaries/minors, in Group ‘B’.

The spokesperson also said that in the Upper Bari Doab Canal system, Sabhroan Branch with its distributaries, being in the 1st preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilised in Kasur Branch Lower, Main Branch Lower and Lahore Branch with their distributaries, respectively.
