Describing the Modi-led government's decision anti-people, Sharma said, "The multiplied freight rates would further increase the prices of necessary supplies." He added that the BJP had not fulfilled the promises made during the election campaigns.

The central government had on Friday increased the railway fares by 14.2% for all classes and freight charges by 6.5%, which would become effective from June 25.
