Born with the blessing of music, Lakhwinder says, "Since I belong to a family of musicians, music is something that I have bequeathed. Thus, I have never felt the need of competing with anyone. My only competition is my father; all I want to do is sing like him. As for this album, though it a solo album, I have included a track by my uncle and father (the famous Wadali Brothers), only because they never release their own solo albums!" The younger Wadali would next be singing for Ritesh Deshmukh in a Bollywood film.
'Hum nahi changey bura nahi koi' is how the singer describes his approach towards life. About being a part of the Punjabi music industry, which has been surrounded by controversies of late, the sufi singer says, "I can talk about myself all you want; not about others. If I'm asked to sing a song that is against my cultural beliefs, I would clearly say no. Every artiste in Punjab should learn to preserve their culture; always sing something that their family can be proud of."
PFW would also be organised in Jalandhar and Amritsar. The exhibition is on till Sunday at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17.
