Police claim to have arrested two Naya Gaon residents for allegedly eve-teasing and stopping a girl on her way to home in Sector 11 on Monday.

The accused have been identified as Rahul and Shali, both residents of Naya Gaon.

Station house officer (SHO), Sector-11 police station, Malkeet Singh, said a Sector-11 lodged a complaint to police, alleging two motorcycle-borne (CH-04 A-9168) youths stopped her on way to home and eve-teased her by passing lewd remarks.

After the investigation, police arrested both of them near Sector 11 and registered a case under Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
