The chief secretary's office has revealed this in the information provided under the RTI recently. According to the RTI reply to activist PP Kapoor's query, the secretariat said all ministers had submitted their asset details up to 2011. But the chief minister's office had reportedly kept the details secret.
During the 2009 assembly elections, these politicians had declared their financial status to the Election Commission.
The Hooda government was sworn in October 2009 but not even a single minister has submitted their financial statements for three years.
According to the code of conduct, the ministers should declare their assets to the chief minister. In September last year, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had set a precedent when he and his colleagues had posted the details of their assets on the PMO's website.
"It is unfortunate that the Haryana government is acting in a secretive manner by concealing asset details of the chief minister and his ministerial colleagues from the public. The procedure is incomplete till all details are put on the public domain," said Kapoor.
Education minister Geeta Bhukkal said the ministers should submit their asset details to the chief minister on time, but did not comment on whether the details should be posted on the website. Power minister Capt Ajay Yadav saw no harm in putting the details of ministers' assets in the public domain.
"Some people may try to misuse these details, but otherwise the asset details declared while filing nominations during elections, can be put on the official website of the state government."
