UK delegation calls on Badal

A delegation from the city of Gravensham in United Kingdom today called on Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and apprised him of a project that aims to establish multifaceted links between their city and Jalandhar.

A delegation from the city of Gravensham in United Kingdom today called on Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and apprised him of a project that aims to establish multifaceted links between their city and Jalandhar.

The five-member delegation of Gravesham Borough Council was led by its first Punjabi Sikh Mayor Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi and included executive leader of Gravesham council John Burden, director for business Kevin Burbidge, director for communities Melanie Norris and town twinning officer Barry Rowbotham.

Dhesi informed the CM that under this programme,Gravesham Council was keen to promote business, cultural, sports and other activities between these cities by establishing a centre at Jalandhar which would further help in promoting healthy bilateral ties between UK and Punjab.

Badal appreciated the efforts of Gravesham Council to intensify mutual bonding between these two cities.
