Talking to mediapersons at his residence here, he said the name of new party would be ‘Jan Chetna Party’, which was approved by the Election Commission, while other modalities were being worked out. Claiming that the party would be headquartered at Ambala, he said the central committee office bearers would be announced in 10 days time and the party would be officially launched by the middle of the next month.

In reply to a question, Sharma said his outfit would have no truck with any other political party and would contest the upcoming assembly election in 80-90 assembly segments on the plank of development and good governance. Ruling out the possibility of his joining any other party, he said he would contest the election from Ambala City, which he had nursed for the past nine years, while candidates with good image would be fielded from other seats.

Coming down heavily on the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government, the MLA said Hooda was indulging in poll eve gimmicks by making populist announcements, even as there was no intention to fulfil them.
