Bengaluru woman dies by suicide; husband accused of harassment, held
The woman - who worked with a multinational firm - accused her husband of physical and mental torture in the suicide note.
In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old woman died by suicide in Bengaluru on Tuesday. She has left behind a suicide note in which she alleged mental and physical torture by her husband. The accused - Nihar Routray - has been arrested by police in a case of abetment to suicide.

Upasana Rawat worked at a senior post in a multinational firm. Rawat's suicide note, which was found by cops, also highlighted that she was being blackmailed by her husband with some objectionable videos that he had recorded. Her father-in-law is also a co-accused in the case. He allegedly tortured Rawat mentally and emotionally, forcing her to end this marriage, the FIR mentions.
Rawat, after receiving divorce papers from her husband, had filed a response. She too wanted to separate. “She absolutely wanted to get a divorce, but he was threatening her that he will ruin her life after that (by leaking her private videos),” a family member said. The incident happened in the city's Varthur area, from where Routray was nabbed by police on Wednesday, as per reports.

Rawat's family has also filed a complaint with the Varthur police station in this regard.
