: Over 73% polling was recorded in four districts of Haryana to elect members of the zila parishads and panchayat samitis during the third and final phase of panchayat elections on Tuesday.

The polling began at 7am and continued till 6pm in Faridabad, Palwal, Hisar and Fatehabad.
The elections are being held to elect 559 panchayat samiti members and 78 zila parishad members in 25 blocks of the four districts.
As per election officials, 75.7% voters cast their vote in Fatehabad, 67.8% in Hisar, 64% in Palwal and 65.2% in Faridabad.
Panchayat minister Devender Babli also voted at Badai Khera in Fatehabad’s Tohana.
The voting process was halted for some time after three EVMs malfunctioned due to technical glitches at Bhatu village in Fatehabad.
Hisar Sadar police have booked zila parishad ward number 10 nominee Ashish Godara, Bajir and others for abduction, attempt to murder and other charges for allegedly trying to abduct rival candidate Bhagat Singh at Balsamand village on Monday night.
