AITA meet Chandigarh: Seeds Sarthak, Neeraj ease into quarterfinals

While Sarthak came through a 6-4, 7-6(5) win over Yash Baghel, Neeraj overpowered Vilasier Khate to post a straightforward 6-1, 6-2 win

Top seed Sarthak Suden and second seed Neeraj Yashpaul sailed into the men’s singles quarterfinals of the AITA National Ranking Tennis Championship, being held at the CLTA Stadium, Sector 10.

While Sarthak came through a 6-4, 7-6(5) win over Yash Baghel, Neeraj overpowered Vilasier Khate to post a straightforward 6-1, 6-2 win.

Putting on a great show, Atharva Sharma and Kartik Saxena advanced into the next round. Kartik, the eighth seed, outplayed Sanket Tomer 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets.

Fourth seeded Atharva, meanwhile, needed three sets to get past Sushant Dabas. Both players played top quality tennis, slugging it out in several high-intensity rallies over the course of the match. Atharva took the match in the decicded 7-5.
