The VB took measurement of the house and also videographed the building. The VB officers, who had come to check Kapoor’s house, refused to speak to the media. The case was registered against Kapoor when he was posted in the vigilance bureau during the previous Congress regime. Earlier, Kapoor was posted as the deputy superintendent of police (central) in Chandigarh and superintendent of jails in Amritsar where he was embroiled in another controversy in 2019 when a woman inmate accused him of rape.

Officials said the same woman has now filed a disproportionate assets complaint with the VB. She has also named a few senior officials of the VB.

Kapoor was not available for comments despite repeated attempts.
