Five-year-old boy found murdered in Kurukshetra

The father of the deceased told the police that the boy went missing on Monday evening when he was playing in the street

: A semi-naked body of a five-year-old boy was found under bushes in Devidaspura village of Kurukshetra district, hours after he went missing, police said on Tuesday.

Nirmal Singh, incharge of Kurukshetra Sadar police station, said they have registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Police is suspecting that the boy was allegedly kidnapped before being murdered.

However, police did not confirm sexual assault, saying that actual cause of death will be ascertained after postmortem of the body.

The father of the deceased told the police that the boy went missing on Monday evening when he was playing in the street. The family members started searching for him at around 8pm and later they spotted his body under the bushes in a greenbelt area of Devidaspura.

Police said that the body was sent for postmortem and they were also examining CCTV cameras installed in the locality to hunt for the accused.
