Lalru police on Monday booked a Haryana resident on the charges of raping a 32-years-old woman in a hotel in Kurli village in Lalru.

The victim in her complaint alleged that she was raped by Tarsem Singh of Janderi, Kurukshetra, Haryana, in a hotel in Kurli village last week. She lodged a complaint with Ambala women cell which further informed the Lalru police following which a Zero FIR has been registered at Lalru police station.

“We have received the complaint and our teams have gone to nab the accused who is absconding. They both knew each other. The investigation is on and the accused will be arrested soon”, said a police officer privy to the matter.

A case under Sections 376 (2) (N) (commits rape repeatedly on the same woman) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered.
