Two people were killed and two others were injured after a speeding card hit their bikes near Jainpur village on Ladhowal Bypass on Sunday morning.
The mangled remains of the car which hit the bikes.
The deceased have been identified as Maan Bahadur, 41, a native of Nepal, and Nisar, 30, a native of Uttar Pradesh. They were both living in Sunet village.
Tekchand and Kishan Kumar were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital. All four of them worked as drivers and as valets on weekends.
On Sunday morning, the four of them had gone out on two bikes to a restaurant near Jainpur. Bahadar and Nishar were riding on one bike and Tekchand and Kishan Kumar were riding on the other bike.
As the bikes turned towards the service lane to go to the other side from Ladhowal Bypass near Jainpur, a speeding car hit both the bikes from behind. The driver fled the spot, leaving the car behind.
While Bahadur and Nisar died on the spot, Tekchand and Kishan Kumar were rushed to a private hospital by locals.
The commuter, who captured the incident, said the driver was around 15 years old. Confirming this,PAU police station house officer Rajinderpal Singh said that in the the suspect appears to be a minor footage shared with the police . The matter is being verified.
Bahadur’s wife Vishu works as a domestic help and the couple has four young children. Police have informed the victims’ families.
