Ludhiana | Friends Club, Chachrari Hockey Centre lift trophies at Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Festival

While Friends Club Roomi defeated the Jarkhar Academy 5-4 to lift the trophy of Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Festival held in Ludhiana

Friends Club Roomi and Chachrari Hockey Centre on Sunday recorded victories in the senior and sub-junior category, respectively, of the final match of Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Festival being organised by the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust in Jarkhar village.

While Roomi Club defeated the Jarkhar Academy 5-4 to lift the trophy, Grass Round Academy, Chachrari, outplayed Amargarh Hockey 2-0 to register its win.

In the first senior category final match, Jarkhar team remained dominant against Roomi Club as the former was leading 4-2, three minutes before the end of the match. Eventually, Roomi Club players geared up against the Jarkhar team and turned the tables.

It is Roomi Club’s maiden victory in the said tournament.

Balram Singh of Chachrari won the Man of the Match award for his performance in the final against Amargarh, while Amandeep Singh of Chachrari was tagged the Man of the Tournament.

Parminder Singh of Amargarh team won the Best Goalkeeper award, and Gurmanavdeep Singh of Jarkhar team was honoured with Best Scorer award.

However, the winning teams received ₹25,000 each and the runner-ups were awarded ₹18,000 each.
