Ludhiana | Poets enthral at international mushaira in honour of Sahir Ludhianvi
The mushaira evening at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana, was embellished with the gems of Urdu poetry from all over the country, Canada and UAE to mark birth anniversary of legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi.
To open up noble vistas of universal love and commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi through the poetic expression,Tehzeeb– the culture of love society– an organisation dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi literature and culture, organised 14th international mushaira on Sunday at Guru Nanak Bhawan.

Tehzeeb conducts this mushaira every year in the fond memory of Late Sukhbir Tony. The event was supported by a renowned poetry organisation Ahl-e-Adab from Mumbai.
The poetic evening was embellished with the gems of Urdu poetry from all over the country, Canada and UAE. Eminent poet Fehmi Badauni graced the occasion as chief guest.
Chairperson Anil Bharti, president Mukesh Aalam, vice-president Surinder Khanna, general secretary Ashok Dhir, joint secretary Rakesh Kharbanda, finance secretary Rajinder Sharma, event co-ordinator Manish Kakkar and Chhaya Sharma, accorded warm welcome to all the luminaries and poets.
While paying tribute to Sahir Ludhianvi, Ashok Dhir sang Sahir”s master piece “Mein pal do pal ka shayar hoon”. Gurvinder Singh from Yamunanagar recited a Sahir’s nazm on the theme of world peace and hazards of war.
While introducing the objective of mushaira, Anil Bharti said, through this international event, they bring together the finest Urdu poets across the globe to celebrate and promote amity, peace and purity of literature.
This poetic rendezvous was designed by the president Mukesh Aalam and team members of Tehzeeb. Famous poets of great repute, including Fehmi Badauni, Madan Mohan Danish, Moien Shadab, Rehman Musavvir, Renu Nayyar, Zubair Ali Tabish, Sarosh Asif, Mukesh Aalam, Vikas Sharma Raaz, Dashmesh Gill Feroze, Varun Gagneja, Amardeep Singh, Aks Samastipuri and Aman Azeez enthralled the poetry lovers.
On this occasion, Dashmesh Gill Feroze’s remarkable poetry book Ghame’-Na-Tamaam was also released.
