Ludhiana: Woman who accused LIP chief Bains of rape manhandles supporter

High Drama was witnessed outside the office of police commissioner Kaustubh Sharma after the woman who has accused Lok Insaaf Party chief Simarjeet Singh Bains of raping her allegedly assaulted a supporter of the former MLA.

The woman was sitting outside Sharma’s office seeking the arrest of Bains, who has been declared a proclaimed offender, when Gurjodh Gill, who is an advocate, arrived there.

As he was about to walk inside, the woman accused him of defaming her on social media and got into a spat with him. Gill alleged that she followed him inside and tried to hit him with a stick.

The police officers who were present at the spot managed to handle the situation before it escalated.

Gill had unsuccessfully the contested assembly elections from Ludhiana east on Lok Insaaf Party ticket. He stated that he had gone to the police chief’s office for some work and will file a complaint against the woman.
