Mohali: Judicial officer’s residence in Phase 3B1 burgled

Burglars ransacked a judicial officer's home in Phase 3B1 while the occupants were away, discovered by caretaker Rakesh Kumar, who alerted police.

Burglars broke into a judicial officer’s residence in Phase 3B1 and ransacked the premises while the occupants were away. Their caretaker, identified as Rakesh Kumar, was the first to discover the burglary and report it to the police.

As per information, Kumar takes care of the house throughout the day and returns home around 6 pm. On December 22, when he turned up for work, he found the main gate open and the household items scattered inside. He immediately informed the police following which a team reached the spot and carried out inspections. Based on his statements, police have registered a case under Sections 305 (theft in dwelling house) and 331(1) (house trespassing) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Cops are going over the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage in the vicinity and also questioning neighbours and security staff for leads.
