According to police, the NRI Deepanshu Dhiman his mother Rajinder Kaur, and father Prem Chand have been booked following the complaint of bride Amandeep Kaur.

In her complaint, Amandeep Kaur alleged that Deepanshu got engaged in February 2018 and after an exchange of rings, the girl’s parents offered 7100 as blessings (shagan) and 3100 from various relatives. Thereafter he went to Australia on study visa.

Meanwhile, Deepanshu’s parents took Amandeep to various family functions introducing her as their daughter-in-law. Then in November 2021 one woman claimed to be Simranjit Kaur said that she and Deepanshu are living in relation and he will not get married to Amandeep.
