Two persons associated with an immigration firm have been booked for allegedly cheating a Patiala woman and her two companions of ₹10.5 lakh on the promise of securing German work visas for them. The FIR has been registered at the NRI police station in SAS Nagar against Ramandeep Kaur and the owner of the Mohali-based firm on charges of cheating.
Priya Kumari, a resident of Patiala, said she, along with Rajat and Shariv Kumar, submitted necessary documents to the Mohali-based consultancy for visa processing on August 15, 2025. After taking ₹10.5 lakh, the firm gave a job offer letter purportedly issued by JW Marriott Berlin. Priya later contacted the hotel through email, but was informed that the document was not genuine, the FIR mentioned.
The complaint was initially marked to the NRI police station in Patiala as the complainant is a resident of the district.
After verification, the police submitted a report to senior officers, following which the Mohali NRI police station registered the FIR.
