No tractor-trailer stolen from Khanauri protest site: Patiala DIG
Sidhu, who reached the Khanauri protest site today, said there were nearly 650 tractor-trailers parked at the protest site before the farmers cleared the site.
Amid reports of thefts of tractor-trailers at Shambhu, Patiala Range DIG Mandeep Sidhu, who was spearheading the crackdown on the farmers at Khanauri protest site, said that not even a single tractor-trailer has been stolen from the Khanauri protest site.

Sidhu, who reached the Khanauri protest site today, said there were nearly 650 tractor-trailers parked at the protest site before the farmers cleared the site. He said that nearly all farmers had already taken their 157 tractor-trailers when police began crackdown while remaining vehicles and other items were safely kept at makeshift open warehouse guarded by the Punjab Police personnel.
“The remaining 493 tractor-trailers have already been taken by the farmers, while 61 gas cylinders have been handed over to those farmers who were rightful owners of it. Besides, 20 refrigerators, six washing machines, and 28 water tankers had also been given to farmers after thoroughly checking their credentials. We have taken photographs – along with their credentials – of farmers while receiving their items. SSP Sangrur Sartaj Chahal had ensured that no item was misplaced,” said Sidhu.
The DIG confirmed that no complaints of tractor- trailers’ theft had been filed at the two police stations serving the Khanauri border—Patra Police Station and Khanauri Police Station.
Despite allegations from some farmer leaders of stolen items, the police confirmed that no official complaints had been received from the farmers regarding missing property.
The controversy comes amid protests by farmer leaders, including Joginder Singh Ugrahan, who has called for protests outside district collector offices across the country. Ugrahan has demanded the return of the “stolen items and the release of detained farmers”.
