Number of active local militants reduced to two digits: Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh

Jammu and Kashmir’s director general of police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said that number of active local militants in Kashmir has reduced to double digits and 100 modules of hybrid militants have been busted.
Singh who chaired series of meetings in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district said that hybrid militants is a big challenge and this year one hundred modules of hybrid militants have been busted.
“With the help of local population, the terrorism is under control. The number of local terrorists has reached in double digits and number of foreign militants has also gone down.” The DGP said that action against the militants will continue to make this place peaceful.
He said that hybrid militants work at the behest of Pakistani handlers and give them targets and these hybrid militants
live like common citizens until they get exposed. “This year 100 modules of hybrid terrorists were busted and action taken against them,” he said, adding that the hybrid militants are a big challenge but are being tackled.
The DGP also condemned the statement of former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti for blaming security forces for killing militants during custody. “Some people have nothing to say so they try to mislead the people,” he added.
