Panjab University senate to reconvene on February 19
The Panjab University senate meeting was adjourned twice and only four agendas could be cleared before the meeting was finally called off.
After the senate meeting had to be called off midway on December 30, Panjab University has scheduled the meeting on February 19 to take up the remaining agendas.
Following the December meeting, the university had maintained that only four agendas – C1 to C4 – were taken up before it was adjourned due to pandemonium in the House. As many as 18 agenda items were listed to be taken up by the varsity’s apex governing body.
At the beginning of the meeting, a group of senators had demanded a statement from former vice-chancellor (V-C) Raj Kumar over allegations of corruption, which had led to a heated exchange between members of the pro V-C and opposing groups.
The meeting was adjourned twice and only four agendas could be cleared before the meeting was finally called off.
