“The state government has decided to deal with the revenue staff sternly which means no work, no pay and the days they are on leave would be considered as break in service,” revealed a senior officer of the revenue department on the condition of anonymity.

The staff, which includes district level revenue officers, tehsildars and naib-tehsildars, went on mass leave on Wednesday.

The revenue staff, however, on Sunday decided to perform the law-and-order duties from June 6 to 8, in view of the Operation Bluestar anniversary.

In case the revenue staff failed to return on duty, there might be stricter action, informed an officer in the revenue department. The officer bearers of the revenue staff association said the indefinite strike will continue and they will work out further course of action.
