Three snatchers in Ludhiana police’s net

Police have arrested three accused in two separate cases of snatchings. The accused used to operate near the railway station and snatch cash and mobile phones from passers-by.
In the first case, Division number 1 police arrested Uttam Bahadur of Mohra village in Nepal, who is currently living in the railway station’s vicinity and Krishna Tiwari of Mithapur of Jalandhar. Police recovered four mobile phones and ₹930 in cash from their possession.
Inspector Sanjiv Kapoor, station house officer at the Division number 1 police station said police arrested the accused near the railway station following a tip-off. A case under sections 379-B (snatching), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
In another case the police arrested Johny of Manjit Nagar, while his aide Vinay Kumar of Manjit Nagar managed to escape. Police have impounded a scooter and ₹1,000 from his possession.
The inspector added that the accused are drug addicts and indulged in crime to make easy money for drugs.
