Two killed after scooter rams into parked truck in Jalandhar

Jalandhar : Two persons were killed after a two-wheeler they were riding rammed into the stationary truck on the Jalandhar-Nakodar road on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Jashandeep Singh and Lucky Kumar, both residents of Jalandhar.
Police said both the victims along with their two other friends were riding the Honda Activa when the mishap took place near a dhaba at Lambra village.
“Both the victims died on the spot, while two of their friends received multiple injuries and are admitted to a hospital,” police said.
Victims’ family members said they were on their way to Nakodar to pay obeisance at a dargah.
Police have registered a case against an unidentified truck driver, who fled from the spot after the accident, under sections of 106 (causing death by negligence) and 125-A (endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
