Under Op Akraman-4, Haryana Police arrest 1,116 criminals, register 573 FIRs
Special drive carried out on Sunday was the fourth in a series of intelligence-driven statewide crackdowns against illegal activities
Under Operation Akraman-4, Haryana Police carried out a special drive against criminals on Sunday and conducted simultaneous raids, leading to the arrest of 1,116 accused and registration of 573 first information reports (FIRs) under the IPC, NDPS, Arms and Excise Acts.

State director general of police (DGP) PK Agrawal said on Monday that the raids were carried out after gathering intelligence on criminal activities, including trafficking of illegal arms, narcotic substances and illicit liquor.
A total of 1,327 teams, comprising 7,109 police personnel, carried out the day-long raids.
“The element of surprise and simultaneous targeting of criminals at multiple locations led to encouraging results,” the DGP said.
A total of 50 illegal firearms and 25 cartridges were seized. The police also recovered 301kg of ganja, 159g of heroin, 49kg of poppy husk, 1.155kg of opium, 34g of smack, 3g of charas and 108 prohibited tablets/capsules/injections.
Twelve most wanted/wanted criminals and three other offenders carrying cash rewards were arrested. Besides, 188 proclaimed offenders and 15 bail jumpers were caught. In addition, 248 other accused involved in various cases were arrested during the special drive. Major recoveries from these accused include two gold chains, 28 mobile phones, ₹3.59 lakh and 38 vehicles.
Cracking down on bootleggers, the teams confiscated 10,620 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, 1,752 bottles of country-made liquor, 58 bottles of beer, 191 bottles of illicit liquor and 632 litres of lahan.
Cash amounting to ₹1,91,776 was recovered from the accused caught under the Gambling Act.
The special drive was the fourth in a series of intelligence-driven state-wide crackdowns under Operation Akraman.
