Husband, in-laws booked for abetting Kalka woman’s suicide

The victim’s elder brother, in his police complaint said that his sister was continuously mistreated by the family. “My sister had got married on March 6, 2016, and was eventually blessed with two daughters. The family used to continuously harass her as she did not give birth to a son,” he told the police.

The victim’s elder brother, in his police complaint said that his sister was continuously mistreated by the family. “My sister had got married on March 6, 2016, and was eventually blessed with two daughters. The family used to continuously harass her as she did not give birth to a son,” he told the police.

He also alleged that the victim’s husband used to beat her up, and the panchayat had to intervene twice in the matter.

He said that his sister was pushed over the edge due to continuous harassment by the husband and in-laws. Based on his complaint, a case under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law at Kalka police station.
