DDA signs agreement for five-star hotel in Dwarka Sector 23

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has signed an agreement with Juniper Hotels Ltd for development of a five-star hotel in Sector 23, Dwarka, a project expected to attract over ₹1,000 crore in capital investment and generate around 800 direct jobs.

The agreement was signed on August 12 in the presence of DDA vice-chairman N Saravana Kumar. Juniper Hotels was represented by chairman and managing director Arun K Saraf and president Amit Saraf.

The hotel will be developed on a licence-fee basis and is expected to become operational by 2030, officials said. It is one of four special licence-fee projects auctioned by the DDA over the past year and the first for which the authority has formally executed a licensing agreement.

The 55-year licence is projected to generate over ₹6,000 crore in revenue for the DDA over the licence period. The site will be handed over to Juniper Hotels soon, according to the authority.

The hotel will overlook the DDA’s Dwarka Golf Course and is located close to the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre and Dwarka Sports Complex. It is also opposite the proposed Diplomatic Enclave. The DDA said the location would help the hotel cater to business travellers, convention visitors, tourists and golfers.

“Juniper Hotels is a strategic partnership between Saraf Hotels and Hyatt. The proposed property is planned to be developed and operated in partnership with Hyatt under the Grand Hyatt brand,” a DDA statement said.

The project is part of the DDA’s efforts to attract investment and expand commercial and hospitality infrastructure in Dwarka. Recently, the lieutenant governor interacted with industry representatives on measures to accelerate the sub-city’s development as an economic and commercial hub.

The DDA said its plans for Dwarka include integrated planning, infrastructure upgrades and investor-focused measures.

The authority said the hotel would add to the availability of five-star accommodation in Delhi-NCR and support the growing demand for hospitality services in Dwarka, particularly with major facilities such as Yashobhoomi, the golf course and the proposed Diplomatic Enclave.
